We are very pleased to announce that Edison Nation is now a part of the XSPAND PRODUCTS LAB Family!“Today,
innovation is alive and well, but the needs of our community have grown,” said
Louis Foreman, CEO of Edison Nation. “With the advent of crowdfunding and
e-commerce, the way new products are brought to market has changed. Innovators
now need the ability to not only share their ideas but also introduce them to
consumers quickly and effectively. Our acquisition by Xspand meets these needs
by unleashing services and resources to not only develop products, but also to
manufacture and distribute them. For 10 years, Edison Nation has been the
trusted marketplace for innovators to share their ideas, this is not going to
change, it’s only going to get bigger.” To learn more about this fantastic partnership and the new opportunities available to the Edison Nation community, please check out the full announcement on our blog!

Welcome Xspand!! This will certainly xspand our oppurtunities!
The possibilities are intriguing.....hmmm! Another potential path to market. Sounds like a good opportunity.
WOW! Onward and Upward. EN continues to stay relevant and cutting edge. Great News!! This certainly fills the production/ditribution gap that I felt EN was missing. VERY exciting.
"Our acquisition by Xspand…" EdisonNation has been "Acquired" by Xspand Products Lab?
Hi William! Yes, Edison Nation has been acquired by Xspand Products Lab but EN will remain the same! This opportunity will offer even more opportunities for our community!
thanks Kristina. : ) @Chase, "but EN will remain the same!". Apparently it's business a usual.
New eyes and minds= new opportunities.
Hi Chase! The process in which Edison Nation reviews ideas will be the same for both innovators and the EN team. Your ideas are still protected under the standard terms and conditions of our Innovator Agreement.
Got several old submissions that I think will be a good fit for this search. Passed time for me to get busy. Good luck everyone. Oooops… was gonna aske about a deadline but I just checked and we got TWO years to submit !! Wowzer, wowzer, wowzer !!!
William, We look forward to your ideas! To clarify the Crowdfunding search will be an ongoing search opportunity!
Kristina, and another two wowzers. LoL
Kristina, Michelle, Scott still on the EN team? Still Located in NC? Is Eventis Partners not part of Aquisition?
Hi Jim! Yes indeed, we're all still here and the office will remain in Charlotte. No changes to the team. Enventys Partners is not a part of the acquisition but they will be involved in crowdfunding efforts. :)
So glad for you guys, can't wait to see how it all works out.
I was wondering about that too Jim. Glad you asked!

This is really great news! Other than introducing myself in another thread, I haven't yet begun participating in this forum (just doing a lot of reading, up until now). I love the crowdfunding opportunity aspect of this news. Recently, I've become a bit fascinated by crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo--there is a lot of great inspiration that can be had just by spending some time and reading about different projects others have launched. I may have missed it--and, I apologize if this is obvious or implied already--but, for this opportunity, would EN essentially launch the crowdfunding on Kickstarter itself? Indiegogo? Or, would they use some other crowdfunding platform or website entirely? Have a good day everyone!
Good question Frederick - and welcome to the EN community!
Good morning everyone! If an idea is selected for a crowdfunding campaign, Edison Nation will run the search on one of the existing crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter or Indiegogo. We will do this with the help of Enventys Partners and Xspand. Hope this clarifies!
I have noticed that on sites like Yanko Design, Impressivethingspage.com and others including on Facebook on sites like Awesomestuff365 and Cheddar has alot of things advertised that are still start ups on Kickstarter and others. So will the crowdfunding part of EN advertise on Facebook and any of the others I mentioned? I love going through AwesomeStuff and Impressive things because they really do have some neat, cool things on there. It sometimes gives me inspirations for ideas, too.
Hi Kenneth! The team will explore all proven advertising avenues for our crowdfunding campaigns.
Hello all! I am wondering a few things. I have an idea submission in the Open Search that is G7. I was very anxious to submit it to the Crowdfunding Search thinking that it would have more exposure and it was declined at R4 due to not enough mass market appeal. 1) Do different teams review different searches? 2) If a product invention is seasonal, does that mean it is does not qualify for mass market? . I have had two seasonal items declined for this same reason. Thank you! :)
Hi Junie! All submissions are evaluated by appropriate members of the team against the criteria specific for that particular search. With regards to crowdfunding, we have provided a specific list of criteria that was shared from our crowdfunding partners. Seasonal items do not tend to trend well within the CF space due to timing required within campaigns, etc. We are going to be sharing a “Crowdfunding 101” soon on the blog as well so stay tuned!

Well Mr. Pontius, you beat us to the punch! This is very exciting news indeed, Edison Nation previously announced this deal in July and now the "i's" have been dotted and "t's" crossed. We look forward to new resources and opportunities for our innovator community, as well as the chance for continued growth. Be on the lookout for more news and a whole new look and feel of EdisonNation.com in months to come!

This sounds great. Looking forward to either dialing in to the Web cast live if possible, or at least listening in playback mode. Looking forward to the new opportunities and the new look and feel website. EN appears to be headed in a positive direction, and I, for one, want to be a part of it.
