Hi All,

I'm new to the Edison site and wanted to get clarification about submitting ideas....

If I submit an idea for the $20 or $25, is that only to bring the idea to market?  If the product turns out to be something that can be licensed, will the Edison team reach out and say it is licensable, or will they only do that if it is submitted through the Licensing Program membership?  On one hand, I want to submit my first idea in the most economical way in order to get used to the process. But on the other hand, I don't want to lose out on an opportunity for licensing if it is feasible.

Hi Brian!

Submitting your idea to the All Category search means that the idea will be evaluated, and if it successfully goes through our evaluation process, it will be pitched for licensing. Patented and patent-pending products submitted by Insiders through the Insider Licensing Program will also be pitched for licensing if they reach finalist stage. 

The difference between the two programs is how ideas are evaluated. To learn more about the stages of evaluation within these programs, please visit the Edison Nation Help Page.
