In terms of ratings, how is the show doing? It wasn’t available at all in the relatively large market of the New York City area last season.

From the last thread I read of people asking questions, what would make a fascinating story for my AllBusiness.com blog would be to talk about some of the past inventors and their products from season one. Would that be possible? There is a lot to learn from the past experience of others.

I asked this question the other day but I didn’t get an answer: Do you have an idea what the percentage of viewers of EE are non inventors. Have you gotten any positive feedback from these non inventors about the show?

Hey Jefferson, All great ideas you’ve come up with… I’ll make sure to integrate your request for more detailed prototyping processes, mold making, etc… ) While some I can’t do like the call to action with the EE website…only because we’re not allowed to do that-PBS rules When we’re in full blown filming for the show and editing…it gets pretty hectic for the production crew and product development crew…so the “how-to” videos might be a little difficult to pull off….but it’s definitely something to consider Thanks,

Okay…here’s a question when are you going to have me back down and let me know what the heck you’ve been doing with my idea for the past 15 months or so! You guys are killing me with the wait and the delaying the season and the not knowing when we’ll be back for final filming beyond “the beginning of the year”. I’m just teasing you guys, I know you are doing a great job it’s just I’m tired of the cloak and dagger stuff and I’m ready to see what you’ve done. One thing for sure, I’ve lost a lot of weight from all the worrying about what you were doing and stressing over my dashboard since first filming so you might need to retouch my footage to make me heavier to match the early stuff or add a subtitle so they know I’m the same person! LOL!!!

Mya, I don’t think Everyday Edisons limits their casting to the US crowd only. As far as I know if you make it to a casting call and your idea is one of the best you have just as much of a chance of getting on the show as anyone else. Is that true on wondrous EN staff? Give Mya some hope.

Hi Marvin, Seasons 2 & 3 both had 13 episodes, which is pretty standard for a seasonal show (divides neatly into a 52-week year).

Please explain the purpose of Everyday Edisons (EE) as compared to Edison Nation (EN). What I do not understand is how an invention gets from EN (which is designed to get the best products to your sponsors who may ultimately bring the inventor’s product to market) to EE which is a reality TV show? Questions: How does a product get from EN to EE? What happens to a product and its inventor, once it is featured on EE? How does EE work; what happens on this show? Is there a competition between inventors and their products on EE or is it to demonstrate the process an inventor goes through before having their invention go to market? Do products featured on EE go directly to market following their spotlight on EE? If an inventor and their product(s) are not selected for EE, can the inventor’s product be submitted to a sponsor or does not being selected for EE mean the end of the line for an invention (severed ties between EN and an invention)? Could an inventor resubmit an invention (to another search) if rejected for the current EN search or EE?

Hey George, EN and EE are basically one in the same. EN is the web community started by Luis Foreman and EE is the reality show started by Luis Foreman. I believe they’re both owned by Enventys which is owned by Luis Foreman. Here is a link where you can watch full episodes of season 2 and 3 of EE. It should help you understand the process a little better.

Yes Mark but you have to submit your idea to the insider open search first. Because they are looking for NEW ideas in that search. Then you can just opt it in to other searches.

wow, I like Matt’s comment… “we’ll be jumping right into product development pretty quickly. Those who are selected for the show are in for a fast and exciting ride!” Season 3’s ride was exciting for sure but I wouldn’t use the word fast…LOL! I’m still on that ride. Hoping to see all of you guys again with a chance at season 4. I’ve got a couple still hanging in there and have a lot of confidence in my housewares one I snuck in under the wire. Thanks for that chance. I saw it as a sign to get my A$$ in gear and figure out a prototype and get it entered. Working prototype in under 3 days…new record for me! I wish all those that do make it down as finalists the best of luck. It’s quite an exciting experience and if you make it know you’ve really earned it.

I want to know why only some of the sponsors are identified, while others (mostly from the casting calls) are not? It is important for people to know which company they are submitting an invention to, because a particular unidentified company may reject a product. If an inventor wishes to resubmit the same product to another company, they would not know to whom they are submitting it to. I would like another company to consider my invention with a fresh perspective; not, oh no not again.

Hey Joni… Yeah, you’d think that if they are going to spring an announcement of only the top 10 inventions to develop, that those “stuck” below the seventh stage, don’t have the best odds of goin’ all the way. PS

Everyone who is still green has a chance. They are evaluating all the inventions against each other right now. As far as not stating the sponsors, EE will select 10 finalists and then seek sponsors after that point. So, there are no sponsors as of yet.

If you’re green, you’re still on the scene. Patience is a virtue we can’t squander it with fear. All is not lost, if you regroup, tweak it, and resubmit. Here’s something for you to think about. Went through my stuff, been working on the game since 1999. Had on serious toy company look at. 3000 dollars for them to take to a toy fair and offer it for me. Had to turn that down. Still working and tweaking to make the best offer. It’s up here as a submission.
