2nd Annual Acts of Random Kindness Flash Mob Saturday October 10th Noon!

kdc's Avatar

This is the 2nd Annual Acts of Random Kindness Flash Mob. (Formerly titled Pay it forward flash mob). This is a virtual event that you can take part in WHEREVER you are, so this is not a traditional flash mob, in that all participants will not be in the same location…so you can reach out to your own community. We can spread kindness no matter where we are or what we are doing.

On Saturday, October 10 12:00 p.m. in your time zone stop what you’re doing and perform an act of kindness to another. Maybe buy a meal for a person at a restaurant. Visit the sick. The aging. Feed the homeless. Let’s make a 24 hour wave around the world.

Last year the event was attended by over 150,000 people worldwide.

Let this be an invite to spread kindness and help others every day of our lives…

I bought some roses today and took them to a nursing home.
I told one of the staff members to please give them to one of their
residence who doesn’t get visitors ( I know many are put in those
nursing homes and forgotten about by their family). I explained why
I was doing it and she suggested I go with her to give them. I told her
I’d rather have her deliver them to the person and that I trusted her judgement
to give them to someone who needed a little lift today. She teared up and
hugged me. She said she had the perfect person in mind who has been
there for two years and had only two visits when she first came there, but
no one has visited her since. Then I teared up! I don’t know who the
woman was that she gave them to, but I’m sure she’s enjoying them.

Poor lady! She may have enjoyed a visit from you even more than the flowers. :)
