I just got a letter from this company myself. It appears as if they are a rebranding of a company that has quite a few complaints against them named Millennium Marketing Group out of Kansas. It looks like their MO is to get people to pay an upfront fee to market and network their products, and then never deliver.

Their domain is only a year and a half old, and has privacy enabled, which is a little sketchy for a supposedly legit company that would enjoy having brand recognition. I myself am just going to trash the letter, but since I stumbled on this forum post when researching them I thought I would share.

I received letter from BankOnIP and many others when my first patent was issued. I did my research on them and the others who sent information and pitched all but one. The one I researched further would work a contingency with no money coming from me.

Hi Archie -

I just received a patent and am trying to find a company to assist me in development and marketing.

Would you mind telling me the name of the company you went with?

I got the letter from BankonIP and am now very suspicious.

Thank You in advance …

Kevin, it’s not a real good idea to post personal information, such as email address and phone number, in an open forum. There are just too many not so nice people coming and going, and who knows what they can do with such personal information.

If you want to talk about specific and personal stuff with a particular person here just “befriend” them and then you can email back and forth.

Just a heads up. Oh… and WELCOME to EdisonNation and the EdisonNation Forums !!!

I agree with William about posting personal information. If I told you how much information can be found on a person with something as simple as a username,…your hair would stand on end. Trust me, I know first hand. I’ve had people challenge me and I took on their challenge and it scared the poop out of them! There are people out there who would take advantage of that information and use it in a negative way.

Hi Kevin …. welcome to Edison Nation. Almost without exception the companies that contacted me concerning my patent after it was issued didn’t seem to have a very good track record when I researched them further. Many companies had changed names at times but the CEO would be the same. You could type in the CEO’s name and read what others had to say about them and their dealings. Almost all seemed to only be after my money. That’s not to say there aren’t honest people out there you just have to find them.

The one company I referred to below …. that seemed to be reputable from the research I did on them after they contacted me …. i didn’t follow up with. I had already taken another path at the time. I don’t feel comfortable giving out the names of contacts that I don’t have complete confidence in for fear that it might end up being a bad experience for you or others that might read this.

If you want to give it a try on your own then I would say proceed with caution. The internet allows you the inventor to get a good feel for the different companies out there but also allows the bad guys to find you as well. It’s a double edge sword. I wouldn’t look for someone to market my product but would instead be looking for someone to be a manufacturing partner. Don’t overlook Edison Nation in getting to market either now or later. Good luck with your quest!!
