How and from whom to purchase a market research study?

danb2194's Avatar

My invention is pretty pricy compared to the current items on Edison. Therefore I am seeking help on how to find and purchase a market research study for my product.

I went to invent help locally but they wanted 3 times as much as I’ve heard a study usually is. Granted their price includes a promotional DVD but I am already a multimedia designer and can create my own promotional material for free.

Thanks for any help.

Dan

For an invention evaluation, which includes market research, try the WIN Institute http://www.wini2.com/ . College students will do a very thorough job at a low price.

One thing I would like advice on is finding information to improve my market research. Things like sales by SIC industry codes, buying trends for various demographics etc. This could make my ideas and presentations much stronger. I know Lexis Nexis is the king in this area but is very pricey for individuals. Can you access Lexis at a library, or are there other market analysis tools on the web that are more affordable? Thanks.

The Innovation Institute (I2) is not currently accepting new client submissions. You can get an equivalent evaluation @

http://www.inventone.com/

Click on the W.I.N. tab to access.

Thanks for the heads up, William.

One that I have used, similar to WIN, is from U of Wisconsin-Whitewater http://wisconsinsbdc.org/wisc
