When you get the x

mellschmidt's Avatar

I firmly believe in my invention as we all do!  So when you get the x would you resubmit to another category?

Hi Melissa!

You are welcome to submit to another category if you'd like! As an Insider, we would recommend updating your submission to indicate what you updated to our Review Team.

Best of luck!

Melissa, you are free to resubmit but only resubmit to an appropriate search. Non-insiders have to pay the submission fee again, but insiders can resubmit to a different appropriate search for free. Submitting a pet product to a kitchen product search doesn't do one any good.

Best of luck

Question on this subject.

If you do get a red x and do not agree with decision.  You figure out how to improve it and you get ready to resubmit.

You are pondering what to do next....   While you posted  originally in asotv...  but their max product price in like 19.99.. with your new designed product for a kitchen item is now over $19.99.  It is in fact $ 25.00 but now has the wow factor that was missing!  Do you just skip asotv and go to kitchen products in open search EN?

If the answer is yes because you have gone over the 19.99 limit.  Ok good.  So open search submission now. Can the EN team visit the original idea and see what was improved on??  Even though it is in a new search??  No longer in the asotv.

Also when you update/edit your ideas does that show anything so that the team knows to go look at added files etc?

 thanks all!

:-)

Julia,

Okay... first of all. When you update a submission make sure you note the update in the "Description" portion of the submission form.

Something like...

12/12/2100 added new image (Invention at Work) and updated technical drawing #6

When you resubmit a submission make sure that you tell EN that it is an improved submission from search XYZ. Then they "may" be able to check out what occurred in with the original submission.

If, however (as in the open ASOTV search), a search is still open you can resubmit an "improved" submission to the same search. You'll just have to pay the submission fee again.

I think that's how it works, if I'm in error I know someone will chime in with the correct information.

Best of luck

You might be right Crittie, but I'm sure EN would need to maintain some kind of record of submissions.

BTW Good to see that smile back on your avatar.  :  )

Thanks William ! :P

Yes all submissions red x'd can sit in users submission area or be archived or deleted.   So for that reason you need to keep all of your data separate on your on app or pc.  I personally do not like the cloud and so I developed my own cloud app.  I do not want to spam it here as it would appear as advertisement.  If anyone interested just email or message me and I will tell you the app's name and can help you learn how to use it.

peace !

Julia,

I agree, data such as our submissions and works in progress, shouldn't be kept on any cloud or on our own computers for that matter. As they are connected to the internet and are at risk of being hacked at any given moment.

What "I" prefer to do is keep everything on a thumb drive and remove it from which ever computer I'm on when I'm not specifically using it. Then, if I happen to loose it it's nobody's fault but mine.
