Nice article.    I use a wide range of tools from 3d modeling (fusion360 down-to blender) and 2D drawing tools like gimp and inkscape and yes drawing are great.   Do you have a tool list you might share here?

Hey John.  Quick question.  According to your article, your journey in 3D modeling started in 2001 when you enrolled in the 3D modeling course.  So now it's19 years later, and I'm sure that you are considered an expert.  How long did it take you to reach a novice comfort level with the tools?  Also, for the image you posted directly above, if you were starting today from scratch, how long would it take you generate that image?

Sorry just saw your post, Derrick.. I guess it took 6 months or so to get comfortable with the software but I'm still learning everyday and Ive barley scratched the surface.

The Luna Module took me about a solid week of Modeling then surfacing. When I get into modeling something I can go 12 hrs. a day or more. There is a thin line between 3D modeling and divorce so I need to be careful.  LOL

Good choice John!!  I'm guessing that playing second fiddle to 3D modeling wouldn't sit too well with the Mrs.  Just wait until she goes shopping to do it.  That should buy you ample time :)
