Look! A new search! (Pirasta)

Well, this looks fun and right up my alley.  I've been doing quite a bit of "dooding" lately.  Going for this one!  GL everyone!

I do have a question:

For those of us who lack artistic prowess and can only draw stickmen, can we more or less ARTiculate the concept using descriptors or are they only accepting retail-ready drawings?

What size / resolution of image should we aim for?

Well the actual Pirasta  are pretfty big, .. SIZE: W 63” x H 39” or larger.  So  even at 150dpi  (fair quality but acceptable for printing) you are looking at  about 9500x6000 for a pixel-based image.    double that for 300dpi (normal quality).  Much better go for vector drawing (adobe ai   or if you want a free tool,  inkscape).

Hi all!  Great questions so I reached out for some more details.

I hope this clarifies a little more; Answers in italics, here goes -

*** For those of us who lack artistic prowess and can only draw stickmen, can we more or less ARTiculate the concept using descriptors or are they only accepting retail-ready drawings?T

This one needs the designs already done. Or do around edits to ensure that the designer/illustrator accurately portrayed what the inventor was describing.

***What size / resolution of image should we aim for?

No specifics needed right now, if the innovator design is selected we would come back to work out final files etc.. right now we just want initial concepts mocked-up

Again, size is not needed at the moment. Right now we are just looking for initial concepts and mocks-up. PDF/PNG would work better for review process.

I was told I could share the following as an example for people to wrap their heads around. Note: the jpeg on this was large so it is a screen shot shown but gives a great indication of details

Sending out well wishes to everyone, stay safe!

I was thinking about it, but saw that they already had a version of my idea.  So unless inspiration strikes before 2:00 am CDT, I'll be on the sidelines for this one.

Mine is still a work in progress.  Hopefully, I can finish in time!

I didn't end up submitting anything to this one.  Hopefully you got yours in Saletta.

Aw, I'm sorry you didn't get to finish in time, Saletta. We didn't get a lot of time for this one, the deadline was so close. And I too would love to see more searches like this one, it was a lot of fun!

I did a lot of artwork on this project, but the short deadline prevented me from completing it. However, I look forward to another search like this.

Yeah Judy, looks like the short deadline made it hard for everybody. I hope they give us a little bit more time the next time a similar search comes up. Artists don't like working with deadlines; the limited time doesn't allow us to fully explore our creativity.

Thanks, C.R. & good luck! And thanks Saletta as well. Artists (and inventors) are known to be rather right hemispheric and perfectionistic – a mixed blessing.
