My brother Marvin's Performing Arts Program is going away...

wittyinventor's Avatargold

Sadly, the performing arts program my brother Marvin started over 36 years ago, whose new piece on NBC4 was nominated for an Emmy, is going away.  Wilson Middle School will be closing the end of the school year.  A very sad state of affairs for PUSD, the ramifications of which are immeasurable. But, so proud of Marvin's commitment and unwavering dedication to his students and calling despite current circumstances.  God knows the plans He has for him and His plans don't change even when circumstances do.

The last Christmas performance will be tomorrow.  There has been a ton of medica coverage on this issue and a huge rally of community support.  Now sure what the future holds, but Marvin remains optimistic and resolute.  Just wanted to share...

Surely his program will be missed.  Love that your faith gives you peace to know that God will take Marvin on the path in which he's meant to be!  Thanks for sharing the amazing program that your brother started.  God bless you Marvin!

Wow Saletta.  36 years is a long time.  Just think of how many lives your brother has touched in that timeframe.  Too bad the program could potentially be coming to an end, but you just never know what new opportunity may be just around the corner.  Kudos to Marvin for giving so much of himself to so many students for so long.

Darlene, Elizabeth and Derrick a resounding THANK YOU for your sentiment.  It has been such a major part of his life for so long.  So, it still hasn't quite settled in with him yet, but he's holding strong and steady.  Remaining hopeful for the future. Thx again for your thoughts and kind words!

So sorry to hear this Salette!  That program and Marvin sound like an amazing deal.  What a loss that it's closing. Hopefully he can follow the kids to their new school and continue his legacy.  God really does have the last word and will show him the right path.  Godspeed Marvin!
