Pitching Kevin Harrington

chappy75's Avatar

Hey everybody,

We have been BUSY! I am working on an alliance with another inventor as he has patents on motorized Fat Tire bikes. This is the third time being in front of Kevin. I was not there to pitch the Bay Glider. I was given an address to go to and next thing I know, I am standing in his house and then sitting at his dinner table in Clearwater FL talking about next steps on the Fat Tire. Very cool experience!

Chappy,

Nice to see ya back. Roger and Frank have been worried about you. I figured you were sitting under a Banyan Tree pounding down Margarita's and brainstorming. Looks like the Brainstorming went well.

Not a bad price for the bike .....

Yeah, Thanks Roger... Just came out of paint today and going to my electrician for final electrical install. We will likely water test it tomorrow. Until we get seadek on it it is a little too slick  but we want to test it! Now it has forward and reverse, 100 settings in both directions and we increased the wire diameter to maximize our power throughput.

Now it is capable of 45 amp output... In fact, I just received this photo today! So Stoked!

This has been a wild ride... Not as exciting as a G8 and WAY more work than I'd ever imagined. You can respect what EN does. Negotiating and managing contractors is crazy not to mention the cost element and the time that I personally have had to have my hands in the project. Calgon take me away!

AND STILL NO GUARANTEES for success!

The thing about the development process that EN can't replace for the inventor is the learning experience. That has been priceless!

I had another purchase request last night.

I troll the fishing and boating forums on Face Book.

I am sure surprised and delighted that your so vested in my success. I would appreciate though, if you didn't pressure me about my purchase orders. When we are to that point, I will certainly share that freely. Fair enough?

This thread is about an amazing experience of pitching Fat Tire Bikes to Kevin!

Frank,

The Bike is adjustable as the child grows in age. The tires vary in size from 12", 16" and 20" and the front fork of the frame can be adjusted in four different positions.Go 'N' Grow Cycles, a child can learn on softer surfaces, like grass and sand and avoid the scraped knees that happen when learning with traditional bikes on asphalt.

I wasn't with Chappy. You know how some of your beautiful art work has hidden figures in them. Well theirs nothing hidden in the picture Chappy posted. The name of the Bike is on the frame. :) If you can locate some of the protected technology you will see some SWEET detailed drawing.

This guy has a patent that issued a couple months ago on the Front Wheel Drive system. His are the only bikes with front wheel drive. The bike also holds the guiness book of world records for distance and endurance on the sand. He has issued patents on the Rims and they are 1/3 lighter than the lightest leading fat tire race bike... It is Legit! The little bike is very cool! perfect for putting on an RV!

SWEET CHAPPY

Daytona Beach was where the bike and rider set the Guinness World Records for longest distance ridden in a 24 hour period. New World Record Set: 284 miles cycled in less than 24 hours!

The inventors E-Cherokee Electric Bikes was introduced this Summer and boast a powerful front wheel electric bike,The Bike can take a rider up stairs and over obstacles like no other electric bike can. In fact, by adding a little pedal power, this bike essentially becomes a 4 wheel drive bike.

You now have a single bike that adjusts to fit a child 3 feet tall to one that fits a child 5 feet tall. Parents typically buy 3 - 5 bikes throughout a child's life time. The inventors bike can adjust to grow as your child does, from toddler to teen. This alone can save parents hundreds of dollars.

Fat Tire Bikes are being called the monster trucks of two-wheel riding

FYI: Frank Fat Tire Bikes were in Alaska in the 90's for riding on snow. Actually in the 40's Schwinn had FAT TIRE Cruisers without the heavy knobby tires .

"Speaking of Fat-Tired bikes... they have been around  since 2006... and powered fat tire bikes have been available to the public since at least 2012... so having a hard time figuring out what "new" is being pitched on the old prior art?"

Thanks Gizmo,

Yeah,

The bikes are very cool. As we were pitching the little bike Tommi made a point that a child couldnt fall off the bike because the shape of the tires. So Kevin brought his nephew downstairs to ride it, he was a skinnychild but tall, who was in full superhero garb with mask, 9-10 years old

Well, the wife went with the nephew and we moved on with the presentation. Next thing I know... we heard "He Fell!"

Two things came out of that. 1) There are 3 tire designs with 3 different shapes and 3 different diameters. Because the tires print skull patterns in the sand Tommi has issued copyrights on all 3 and owns the molds. 2) the bike is low enough that even if they do fall off there is no significant impact.

When I showed Kevin a picture of Tom Brady on a Fat Tire bike in the snow Kevin started making phone calls. It was awesome!

Oh, Mr Dark Cloud please rain on another's parade... Sir Brutally honest... Captain Obvious...

It was a good day. The child was not riding with the right tires as we didn't know his riding level. With the square tires, the bike doesn't even need a kickstand, it stands on its own. The point is that it teaches balance without the crutch or storage issues of training wheels.

It is the good in everything that you fail to expound upon and that makes your brutal honesty a little less tolerable and dark clouded. AND that is the obvious pain point that we had to work around. You push pain points and that is not nice, even if they are obvious and already learned from. It was funny and ironic AND it pointed to other strengths of the design, not short comings in the presentation/claims. I think the kid ripped his super hero costume too. Who rides with a mask on anyways?

Thanks for your feedback... Have a good day

Chappy,

I picked up on the fall proof thing right away when I read your post. I understand you were giving play by play to us . Now that it's brought to your attention you know how to handle it just like selling real estate Chappy..

Enough on that subject . Let's move on

Are we done here Roger? I think we know that we need to have realistic expectations. I am being candid about how things went... not acting like things were perfect. It was funny and ironic... That should make you smile and maybe even chuckle a little. It should not launch a lecture from you. Being beat down with rejection has that affect on people. I see it in agents all the time and then they are out of real estate... Poof!

I am living this and learning. Why are your posts so glum and negative? You bring out the worst in me... ugh!

Enjoy the experience. That is what I am doing. In fact, I am in waters you have not tread and a place you may have been a little apprehensive to go, right? It is not a sell sheet and an NDA sent to some corporation. You may be able to learn a thing or two <wink, nod, smile>

My Rule Number 1 is always present with great energy and be positive at all times... After all, if you don't believe in you or your product nobody else will either. If you flub, get back on track and do not linger in objections.

Got more news on the Bay Glider... I will start another thread.

I hope the child was wearing a helmet. I would insist on it and provide one if necessary. Adults as well.

Ok it's time to stop the taunting and move on. Roger you asked Chappy some questions and got the answers it's time to get back on track. It's pretty obvious you keep asking Chappy the same questions to get exposure for your E-Book.

Roger it would be more beneficial and educational to all for you to locate the patent and post on the other thread rather than leaving the question open. Don Kelly has taken valuable time out of his schedule to answer and it's not fair to Don or the other members to let the subject sit

Seeing as how Roger has never really built a business around a product. I can see how this is new territory for him. Never really brought a product through all its phases and managed the project over a year and then had to market and sell them. The process is a little simpler when you spend less that $100 to make a sell sheet and throw it to a company to produce.

I get it... Just not the aggravating style of bullying. grrr...

Oh well, So be it! pfff

Not looking to agitate that subject though.... This is a happy thread!

Not receptive and your attacks are unwarranted... Just stop... Sit back and learn something. That is all you really need to do with my posts. Now it goes, "Holy Crap I have done it! Woohoo Time to celebrate!" then it's "Well, now that I have a great product, What next?".

If you're not a complete jerk then I will share the next steps for the Fat Tire Ebikes!

I am on the race track with 2 cars Might even form a new company E~Ventures with the bikes. I know some might say it is a totally different market but it is all outdoor Electric Vehicles/Vessels.

That could be interesting!

Hey Gizmo,

Yeah, they are progressing with the bikes. There is an email chain that includes some pretty big names that he is sending samples to. I don't know if it was a good idea. They are big names because they are A-List celebs. I guess, that is one way of doing it. The owner is really after celebrity star juice to boost his product. I don't agree completely with that approach but it is not my company either.
